We know that many villagers the area depend on heating oil for their homes and small businesses. Based on the experiences of other communities we are confident that starting a club is the right thing to do and will bring benefit.  We can reasonably expect to save 10% against an individual ringing a supplier direct – it’s quite a significant amount.

We need to build a membership of at least 20 people before we can generate our first order.  In the first instance register using the site registration.  We will keep everyone updated as the group grows and as we near the point at which we can place our first order. Hopefully the time for ordering will arrive soon and we can all start to benefit from the savings.

Many rural communities like ours have limited access to mains gas and with oil prices continuing to rise the price of heating oil is a huge cost for many households. Recent falls in the price of oil don’t alter the longer term trend.

While we can’t affect the price of oil from the refinery by banding together with other households in the same delivery we can reduce the delivery costs for our supplier and often get a better deal for a bigger quantity than we would have managed on our own. By working together as a local community we can ensure we all benefit from the best prices.
