An article relating to an oil user in Yorkshire that illustrates that if you can’t be bothered to check prices, you get what the suppliers feel like charging. At least with NOBC you are guaranteed to get the most competitive price going for over 50,000 litres even if you only need 500 litres

I picked up one of your cards from the Coombe Bissett Post Office. Currently I am with the Bishopstone Buying Group. What price could you quote me for 600 litres delivered to Coombe Bissett?

Apologies for being so late picking up your message. If you had ordered at the end of January for delivery in February, your price would have been 39.5ppl + 5% VAT
It is not possible to predict the price until I go to the suppliers and ask them to bid for the business. I do this twice a month and our average monthly purchase over the last twelve months as been just under 100,000 litres.
